Professor Dr. Susan Archambault

Biography

Susan Archambault is a Guest Faculty Member at the University of Washington's Information School, specializing in areas related to information literacy and academic libraries. With over 20 years of experience in academic libraries, she leads the Reference Instruction Department at Loyola Marymount University's William H. Hannon Library in Los Angeles, California. Susan obtained her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a focus on Social Justice from Loyola Marymount University in 2022. Her current research centers on algorithmic literacy and the invisible biases present in the design of technology and information systems that utilize algorithmic decision-making. Susan has contributed to the academic community through her publications, which include work in reputable journals such as Information Learning Sciences, Journal of Academic Librarianship, and Library Trends. Through her efforts, she aims to enhance the understanding and application of algorithmic literacy in educational contexts.
