Dr. Susan Rodger

Biography

Susan Rodger is a professor in the Faculty of Education at Western University, where she specializes in Applied Psychology. With a strong background in educational psychology, she has become a leading figure in enhancing mental health awareness and capacity within educational settings. Her research interests encompass various critical areas, including barriers to mental health treatment, teacher well-being, mental health literacy, and trauma-and-violence-informed care for teachers and teacher candidates. Rodger is actively involved in national projects aimed at developing resources that support teacher wellness and promote child and youth mental health in schools. She is also a Research Associate at the Centre for Research and Education on Violence Against Women and Children and the Centre for School-Based Mental Health. Rodger has published extensively in reputable journals, contributing key insights into mental health issues in the education sector, and she is dedicated to improving the educational environment for both teachers and students.
