Biography

Susanne Engström is an associate professor in Learning about Technology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where she also teaches in the Department of Learning. Her teaching focuses on technology education at the primary and secondary levels, including supervision of independent thesis work. Engström supervises licentiate and doctoral candidates mainly in technology didactics. She is a board member of the FontD doctoral school and part of the editorial board for the journal ATENA Didaktik. Additionally, she has a position at CETIS, a resource center dedicated to the development of technology education in schools, collaborating with the Swedish National Agency for Education, teacher training programs, active teachers, and other stakeholders engaged in technology education. Her ongoing research projects investigate systems thinking in technology education, examining both the teaching of technological systems and the student success characteristics in engineering studies. Engström is actively involved in various courses related to technology education and supervises school placements for students.
