Biography

Syed W. Ahmed is an Associate Professor in the Teaching Stream and Academic Director of Management Studies at the University of Toronto Scarborough. He has a rich academic background, having taught at several institutions including Concordia University, McGill University, Bishop's University, York University, Ryerson University, and the University of Toronto. With a full-time faculty tenure starting in 1996 at UT Scarborough, his expertise spans areas such as Finance and Management Science. Dr. Ahmed has also owned and managed a retail and wholesale food business and worked as a consultant for a Treasury Consultancy firm, specializing in financial commodity risk management. He has delivered seminars for bankers through the Institute of Canadian Bankers, consistently receiving high ratings for teaching effectiveness in Ontario. His research interests include Job Stress, Male/Female Wage Differentials, Organizational Commitment, and the role of OPEC in oil markets. He has published papers in esteemed journals such as the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences and the Journal of Human Relations.
