Dr. Szu Han Wang

Biography

Szu-Han Wang is a BBSRC New Investigator Fellow at the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. With a background in Psychology from McGill University and the National Cheng-Chi University, Szu-Han's research focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying learning and memory. His work investigates how peri-learning events influence memory persistence and how prior experiences affect learning and memory consolidation processes. Utilizing multiple research approaches, including behavioral models, pharmacological applications, and brain imaging techniques like functional MRI and immunohistochemistry, Szu-Han aims to integrate findings from preclinical models with clinical studies to stimulate treatments for memory-related disorders. His research has significant implications in the fields of mental health and neuroscience, aiming to bridge the gap between experimental findings and therapeutic interventions.
