Dr. Taryn Jones

Biography

Professor Taryn Jones is Macquarie University's inaugural Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) and provides senior leadership in the development and implementation of strategies and programs that support the University's educational mission. With expertise in educational leadership, she drives initiatives aimed at enhancing educational excellence, student access, and graduate outcomes. Taryn has previously held significant positions in the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences, including Associate Dean of Graduate Health Education and Director of the Doctor of Physiotherapy program. Recognized as a transformative educational leader, she has led major curriculum reforms and implemented technology solutions for effective student support. Her research focuses on professional education issues for physiotherapists and health professionals, covering topics like chronic disease management and self-management behavior change. Taryn is also involved in initiatives designed to increase female participation in STEM fields. Her commitment to quality assurance and educational governance is evident in her leadership role regarding Macquarie's accreditation with the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).
