Biography

Ted works in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University as a Professor and the Undergraduate Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) program. With over 30 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist, Ted is dedicated to enhancing the field through research and education. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy with Honours at Queen's University in Canada in 1986, followed by a Master of Public Administration specializing in healthcare policy and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation. In 2003, he earned his PhD in Occupational Therapy from the University of Queensland. Ted's career has included significant roles in various esteemed institutions, including Children's Hospital Eastern Ontario and La Trobe University. He is heavily involved in pioneering occupational therapy research and has supervised numerous graduate and doctoral students. Ted is recognized for his contributions to occupational therapy education and practice, including being awarded Fellow of Occupational Therapy Australia Research Academy in 2017 and receiving the Roster Fellows designation from the American Occupational Therapy Association in 2019. He coordinates and teaches multiple undergraduate units with a focus on evidence-based practices in occupational therapy.
