Biography

Teresa M. Neff is a Senior Lecturer in Music at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Musicology from Boston University. Dr. Neff has presented papers at various conferences, including those organized by the New England Chapter of the American Musicological Society, the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, and the Society for American Music. She served as the Christopher Hogwood Historically Informed Performance Fellow at the Handel and Haydn Society in 2009. Among her notable achievements is the co-editing of 'Bringing Music to Life: The Handel and Haydn Society 200 Years' and her research on the Handel and Haydn Society's publishing history, which culminated in a CD titled 'Old Colony Collection,' released under the CORO label. Her publications also include an article on Boston in 'Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart,' focusing on performing editions of the symphonies of Gottfried van Swieten. Dr. Neff is a two-time recipient of the Levitan Teaching Prize from the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
