Dr. Terry Blum

Biography

Terry C. Blum is currently the Tedd Munchak Chair and Professor at the Scheller College of Business at Georgia Tech, where she also serves as the Ph.D. Coordinator for Organizational Behavior. She has previously held several roles, including Dean of the College of Business from 1999 to 2007 and founding director of the Georgia Tech Institute for Leadership and Social Impact. Her academic interest centers on leadership within organizational behavior, focusing on the intersection of individual capabilities, economic growth, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability. Blum earned her Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1982, during which time she extensively researched organizational innovation, particularly in health services and behavioral healthcare. She has contributed significantly to academic literature in various prestigious journals and has served on the editorial boards of numerous academic publications. Additionally, Blum is a noted collaborator on NIH-funded projects, focusing on leadership development for doctoral students, and co-founded the Georgia Tech Excel Program, which advocates for academic enrichment among students with intellectual disabilities. Throughout her career, she has also served on various boards and committees dedicated to entrepreneurship and community service, further emphasizing her commitment to social impact and leadership.
