Biography

Theresa Schenker earned her PhD from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI. She joined the German Department in 2012 as the language program director. Before coming to Yale, she worked on restructuring the German Language Program, increasing outreach efforts, expanding the summer study abroad program, and training graduate students for teaching positions. Professor Schenker teaches at all levels of the German language and advanced language/culture courses. Her research interests primarily focus on computer-mediated communication, telecollaboration, intercultural competence, and study abroad initiatives. She currently serves as a co-editor for Die Unterrichtspraxis/Teaching German and as a software review editor for CALICO.
