Dr. Therese Mcguire

Biography

Therese J. McGuire is a Professor of Strategy at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She holds the ConAgra Brands Research Professorship and serves as the Chair of the Strategy Department. With a focus on state and local public finance, fiscal decentralization, property tax limitations, education finance, and regional economic development, McGuire has contributed significantly to academic literature in these fields. She has served as President of the National Tax Association from 1999 to 2000 and has been the editor of the National Tax Journal from 2001 to 2009. Her work has been published in numerous prestigious journals, demonstrating her expertise and influence in public economics and fiscal policy. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University and a dual B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she was a Phi Beta Kappa member. McGuire has been recognized with several awards for her outstanding contributions to tax research and public policy education, and she continues to lead discussions on public finance and economic growth.
