Biography

Thomas Hyde is a composer and academic with over twenty years of experience in commissioned works. His recent compositions include a Symphony for the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and a full-length opera titled 'Aiding Abetting' commissioned by Scottish Opera, which was developed between 2019 and 2022. He has taught at City University and held a junior fellowship at the Royal Academy of Music. In his current position at King's College London, he combines his teaching role with a senior research fellowship at Worcester College, Oxford. In 2017, he was elected an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music and in 2023, he was appointed vice-President of the Presteigne Festival. Thomas also chairs the Lucille Graham Trust, a charity that supports music education projects in the London area.
