Biography

Thomas W. Malone is the Patrick J. McGovern (1959) Professor of Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management and the founding director of the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence. Malone teaches classes on organizational design, information technology, leadership, and his research focuses on new organizations designed to leverage the possibilities provided by information technology. He has authored over 100 articles, research papers, and book chapters and published six books including 'Future Work' and 'Superminds.' Malone has co-founded four software companies and serves on the boards of several organizations. His background includes work as a research scientist at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center and an honorary doctorate from the University of Zurich. Malone has received numerous awards for his contributions to the field and is known for his predictions about the impact of electronic business and new technologies.
