Biography

Thomas Sasso is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics at the University of Guelph. He teaches courses on organizational behaviour, human resource management, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion to undergraduate business students. Thomas' research focuses on the experiences of diverse and marginalized populations, particularly within 2SLGBTQ+ communities. He co-founded the Sexual Gender Diversity Research Lab in 2014 and aims to improve workplace experiences through his research, which is funded by the Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and presented to both academic and non-academic audiences. In addition to his academic work, Thomas serves as the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion Coordinator for the Lang School, where he supports faculty, staff, and students in integrating equity and inclusion into research, teaching, and operational practices. His consulting experience spans over a decade, emphasizing evidence-based practices to tackle organizational diversity challenges. Thomas is an expert panelist for the Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Benchmark and has contributed to the Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional designation. He actively engages in volunteerism to support local, regional, and international communities.
