Dr. Uche Amaechi

Biography

Uche B. Amaechi is a lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he also holds the position of Education Chair, Leading Change Foundations. He earned his Ed.D. from Harvard University, focusing on the interactions between school systems and student engagement with personal mobile devices during school hours. His dissertation investigated how teachers and administrators provide academic and social support within school environments. Beyond research, Amaechi has extensive experience in leadership, entrepreneurship, organizational learning, and informal learning. He actively consults with graduate students in these areas and works closely with the Cambridge Public Schools to enhance school leadership and collaboration while addressing issues of racial equity. Additionally, Amaechi has served on the boards of local educational institutions, such as the Community Charter School of Cambridge, and has directed out-of-school programming aimed at providing support for low-income minority populations.
