Dr. Veronica Santini

Biography

Veronica Santini, MD, MA, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at Yale University. She serves as the Clinical Chief of the Yale Movement Disorders Division and as the Director of the Comprehensive Parkinson Disease Care Program. Dr. Santini specializes in providing multidisciplinary care for patients with complex conditions such as autonomic dysfunction and various movement disorders. Prior to joining Yale, she directed Stanford's Huntington Disease Ataxia Multidisciplinary Neurogenetics Clinic and was involved in many innovative programs and clinical trials, including the Stanford Parkinson Disease Duopa Therapy program. Her clinical research has led to advancements in therapies for essential tremor and Parkinson's disease, including pioneering work on focused ultrasound thalamotomy. Dr. Santini is also dedicated to medical education and has developed numerous educational initiatives aimed at increasing understanding of neurological diseases among medical students and healthcare providers. Her commitment to social justice is demonstrated through her global healthcare initiatives, particularly in Haiti, where she has launched programs to improve access to neurology care. She has received multiple awards for her teaching and contributions to the field of neurology, acknowledging her profound impact on both clinical practice and medical education.
