Viji Kurup MD is a Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at Yale. Since joining the faculty in 2005, he has developed a career as a medical educator and is currently the Vice Chair of Medical Education and the Director of the Yale Anesthesia Media Lab. Viji has integrated innovative teaching methods, such as the Flipped Classroom model, into Anesthesia Resident Training at Yale. He is a strong advocate for physician wellness and has introduced a comprehensive wellness curriculum in his department. In addition to his academic pursuits, Viji is actively involved in community advocacy efforts and volunteers as a speaker at career days in inner-city schools in New Haven.
