Biography

Vikram Bhatt is an Emeritus Professor at McGill University, where he teaches courses in urban design and housing. He graduated from the Gujarat University School of Architecture in Ahmedabad in 1973 and obtained his Master's degree in Architecture from McGill University in 1975. Bhatt has extensive experience working in the field of human settlements, planning, urban design, and housing, focusing particularly on urban agriculture and food security. He has led numerous research projects, including those on community gardens in Montreal, addressing the social and geographical impacts of urban gardening. Bhatt's work has contributed significantly to the field of sustainable architecture and urban design, with a particular emphasis on integrating agricultural practices into urban settings. He has published widely on contemporary Indian architecture and urban design, collaborating on research seminars and journals.
