Professor Dr. Vindhya Weeratunga

Biography

I am a Lecturer in the School of Business at UNSW, Canberra. With a background as an HR practitioner and CEO turned academic, I bring valuable real-world experience that enhances the relevance and rigor of my work. I am a mixed-methods researcher with expertise spanning human resource management, systems thinking applications to complex problems, and adaptive leadership. My research primarily focuses on enhancing employee outcomes, including investigating employee engagement, well-being, and the impact of HR practices on various demographic groups. I am currently a co-investigator on an ANZSOG/ACT Public Service research project exploring flexible working arrangements in the Australian Capital Territory Public Service. Additionally, I am involved in projects that explore productivity in hybrid working environments for knowledge workers and facilitate workshops on Adaptive Leadership and High-Performance Systems Thinking. My goal is to contribute to the understanding of workplace dynamics and to help organizations create better working conditions for all employees.
