Biography

Wayne Chang is a Continuing Lecturer and Enterprise Co-op Coordinator at the Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business at the University of Waterloo. With a decade of experience, he teaches undergraduate students about venture creation and business model startup processes. Over the past six years, he has taught in the Master of Business, Entrepreneurship Technology (MBET) program. Wayne is a strong advocate for experiential learning, supporting the Waterloo student startup ecosystem and participating as an invited speaker at various events and hackathons. He served as a judge for pitch competitions and was selected as one of four faculty members for a year-long program by the Centre of Teaching Excellence focused on Experiential Learning Leads in 2018. His teaching excellence has been recognized with several awards, including the University of Waterloo Distinguished Teacher Award in 2018 and the Sanford Fleming Foundation Teaching Excellence Award in 2017. Wayne also co-chaired the Canadian Engineering Education Association's Special Interest Group on Engineering Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation from 2020 to 2022.
