Biography

William Barnett is the Thomas M. Siebel Professor of Business Leadership and a Professor of Environmental Social Sciences at Stanford University. He serves as a Senior Fellow at the Woods Institute for the Environment and chairs the Department of Environmental Social Sciences at Stanford's Doerr School of Sustainability. Barnett directs the Stanford Initiative on Business and Environmental Sustainability and is the faculty director of the Stanford Executive Program. He investigates a variety of areas including organizational adaptation, the proliferation of climate tech startups, environmental justice issues, climate migration, and strategies to preserve the world's rainforests.
