Biography

William Koski is an accomplished clinical teacher and litigator who serves as the Eric and Nancy Wright Professor of Clinical Education at Stanford Law School. He is the founder and director of the Youth Education Law Project (YELP), where he has represented hundreds of children and families in matters related to special education and educational rights. Koski has played a significant role in landmark school reform litigations including Robles-Wong v. California and Smith v. Berkeley Unified School District, advocating for critical changes in public school finance and discipline policies. With a multidisciplinary background as both a lawyer and social scientist, his research focuses on educational accountability, equity and adequacy, as well as the politics of educational policy reform. He has taught various graduate seminars in educational law and policy since joining the faculty in 2001 and also serves as a lecturer in law, supervising Stanford's East Palo Alto Community Law Project. Koski holds an administrative appointment as a member of the Academic Council and is affiliated with the Public Policy Program.
