Dr. Ya Hui Michelle See

Biography

Ya Hui Michelle See received her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Ohio State University in 2007, following her M.A. in 2003 and B.A. in 2001 from the same institution and the University of Arizona, respectively. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the National University of Singapore. Her research focuses on understanding how properties of attitudes influence persuasion and how individualized messaging can promote attitude change. See examines structural properties of attitudes and subjective perceptions, particularly in the context of knowledge and civic duty in charitable giving. Her studies also delve into intergroup attitudes, especially under conditions of threat and anxiety, exploring how individuals react differently to in-group versus out-group behaviors. Through her research, See aims to provide insights into the nuances of attitude changes and the psychological underpinnings of persuasion strategies.
