Biography

Yan Jin is a Professor in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern California and the Director of the USC IMPACT Laboratory. He obtained his Ph.D. in Naval Engineering from the University of Tokyo and conducted postdoctoral research at Stanford University. Since joining USC in Fall 1996, he has focused on design theory and methodology, knowledge-based systems, and collaborative engineering. His current research interests include design cognition methods, enterprise modeling, and complex systems. Jin has received numerous awards, including the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, and has made significant contributions to academic journals as Editor-in-Chief and in various editorial roles. He has served as Program Chair and Conference Chair for notable engineering conferences and has held visiting professorships at Stanford University.
