Biography

Yang Wu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto Scarborough. His research focuses on the emerging domain of Affective Cognition, investigating how humans reason about emotion and affect from infancy to adulthood. Utilizing interdisciplinary approaches that include behavioral experiments, exploratory play, and computational modeling, Yang seeks to understand the nuances of emotional understanding, social learning, and causal reasoning in infants and children. He received his Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2018 and completed his postdoctoral training at Stanford University. Prior to that, he earned a B.S. in Psychology from Peking University in 2012.
