Biography

Young Hyun Cho is an Associate Professor of Piano at Michigan State University College of Music. Initially from Korea, she has performed at prestigious venues including the Vienna Musikverein and the Berlin Philharmonic Concert Hall. Cho has appeared as a soloist with several renowned orchestras, such as the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and the Korean Broadcasting System Symphony Orchestra. Currently, she is working on a project to record all 32 Beethoven piano sonatas, following her acclaimed releases of Sonatas Nos. 12-15 and her recent album featuring Sonatas Nos. 1-4, 19, and 20. She has also served as a guest faculty artist at numerous international festivals and institutions, sharing her expertise widely. A student of notable professors at the Peabody Conservatory and Eastman School of Music, she balances her academic pursuits with a deep passion for classical music that she cultivated from a young age, influenced by her father's love for the art form. In addition to her professional activities, she is an advocate for animal rescue and enjoys exploring new languages in her spare time.
