Biography

Yuri Mishina is an associate professor in Organizational Behavior and Strategy at the Department of Management within Imperial College Business School. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializing in organizational theory with a minor in strategic management, and also holds an MBA from the same institution and a B.A. in economics from the University of Chicago. Before joining Imperial College, he served as an assistant professor in management at Michigan State University. His research focuses on informal corporate governance processes, particularly examining how top management team stakeholder belief systems affect a firm's strategic choices and outcomes. His work draws from a variety of literatures to explore social evaluations such as reputations and stigma, as well as the cognitive biases that influence managers' behaviors, including illegal activities, executive compensation, and overall firm performance. His research has been published in esteemed journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal. Currently, he serves on the editorial review boards of the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, and Strategic Management Journal, and is an International Research Fellow at the Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation.
