Dr. Yutaku Kita

Biography

Yutaku's research focuses on multiphase flows and interfacial phenomena, with specific attention to wetting phase change heat transfer processes such as boiling, evaporation, and condensation. He conducts passionate experiments and develops optical techniques coupled with image processing to capture detailed flows and heat transfer across various time and spatial scales. His work addresses fundamental problems that arise in current and future industrial applications, including challenges in spray cooling, steelmaking, microelectronics, data centers, and power generation condensers. Additionally, Yutaku has contributed to the knowledge in microfluidics and bioassays through his innovative research. He completed his undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (KOSEN), Miyakonojo College (BEng), followed by a Master's and PhD at Kyushu University, Japan. Before joining King's College London as a lecturer in January 2023, he was an Assistant Professor at Kyushu University from 2019 to 2022.
