Biography

Catherine Robbins is an accomplished music educator primarily focused on vocal pedagogy and choral methodologies. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at the Desautels Faculty of Music, University of Manitoba, her extensive experience includes working with youth choirs and conducting various workshops and festivals across Canada. She is also actively involved in publishing her research, contributing to music education journals, and leading discussions on vocal techniques for both choristers and conductors. Catherine has received multiple accolades for her teaching excellence, including the University of Manitoba Merit Award for Teaching in 2016. Her research interests encompass a wide range of areas such as Choral Pedagogy, Vocal Techniques, and exploring collaborations with Indigenous Artists. With a rich educational background, including a PhD in Music Education from the University of Toronto, Catherine aims to advance understanding in the field of choral studies through her contributions to literature and active engagement in educational initiatives.
