Biography

Anahi Alba De La Fuente is an Associate Professor at the Université de Montréal, focusing on language acquisition. Her research primarily examines the acquisition of Spanish, both as a native and second language, with specific attention to bilingual acquisition phenomena. In her work on second language acquisition, she concentrates on morphosyntax, utilizing theoretical linguistics and psycholinguistics approaches. Additionally, her interests extend to foreign language pedagogy, particularly in teacher training, where she emphasizes bridging the gap between applied and theoretical linguistics in the context of second language acquisition and teaching. Alba De La Fuente has led various research projects, including studies on the acquisition of past tenses in second language Spanish and interlinguistic analyses of Romance and Slavic languages acquired by French and English speakers. She has contributed significantly to the field through her teaching, supervision of graduate theses, and recognition in teaching excellence.
