Biography

Aaron Kappeler is a lecturer in the Anthropology of Development at the University of Edinburgh, with a background that includes study at the University of Arizona, University of Heidelberg, University of Leipzig, and a PhD from the University of Toronto. His recent work addresses the dynamics of petro-populism under the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. Kappeler has taught in five countries and is currently teaching courses on Anthropology and Environment, and Social Development, while supervising postgraduate dissertations in International Development and Social Anthropology.
