Dr. Alejandra Crosta

Biography

Alejandra Crosta is a Lecturer in Spanish at the University of Oxford, primarily associated with the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages. Her research interests predominantly focus on translation, Latin American literature, film, poetry, and language teaching. Crosta has acted as a translator for various international entities, including the International Federation of Actors and NGOs working with European Commission agencies, with a special emphasis on the performing arts and intellectual property rights. She has contributed to the translation and selection of new British poetry and is currently translating a Spanish graphic novel, "Red Rose" by Kate Evans, published by Verso in 2015. She worked as a research assistant at the European Humanities Research Centre, where she was responsible for organizing seminars and interdisciplinary events. Crosta has received multiple awards for excellence in the Humanities Division at the University of Oxford, including one in 2018 and another in 2023. Recently, she has published works on feminist themes in translation and edited bilingual editions of poetry.
