Biography

Dr. Alexander Y. Sheng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He currently serves as the Residency Program Director and has built a strong record in education, scholarship, and innovation. Dr. Sheng attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for medical school and completed his residency at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency, which includes Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. He also holds a Master’s degree in Health Professions Education from Boston University. Previously, Dr. Sheng was the Associate Residency Program Director at Boston Medical Center for eight years. Throughout his career, he has received multiple teaching and mentorship awards and has been an active member of several national committees including the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and the Council of Residency Directors. His professional interests are centered around graduate medical education, residency administration, health misinformation, resident attrition, experiential learning, and E-learning curriculum design.
