Biography

Andrea Baer is an Associate Professor of Practice at the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin. She teaches courses in librarianship, academic librarianship, information literacy, library instruction, and scholarly communication. Prior to joining the iSchool, Andrea worked for a decade in academic libraries focusing on instruction librarianship. She has taught academic writing, source-based research, and literature. Her research interests focus on critical digital literacies, inclusive pedagogies, affective learning, critical reflective practice, and the teaching roles of instruction librarians, as well as the intersections of information literacy and writing.
