Biography

Andrea Klaus is an Associate Professor in German Studies at the University of Warwick. She holds a Master’s degree in English and German Language Literature from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Her teaching and research primarily focus on language teaching and learning in higher education. Prior to her current position, she taught German at the University of Sunderland and has experiences with the German Academic Exchange Service. She has served as an external examiner at several universities, including the University of Sunderland, University of Cambridge, and the University of Aston. In 2017, she was awarded a Teaching Excellence Certificate from Warwick Business School for her outstanding contributions to undergraduate programs. Andrea is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and the Warwick International Higher Education Academy (WIHEA). She has engaged in major translations and has worked as a translator with various organizations, such as the Canadian Ukrainian Opera Association. Throughout her academic career, she has published several works related to essay writing in German and English, including a study guide and various articles addressing language learning in a multilingual context.
