Biography

Andrea Salins is a postdoctoral research fellow at Macquarie University's School of Psychological Sciences. Her research explores reading difficulties and anxiety related to reading, as well as literacy challenges faced by children with hearing loss. In her role within the Department of Linguistics, she adopts a co-design and co-production approach to address the complexities involved in ear and hearing health care, as well as speech and language service provision for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families. Andrea completed her PhD in Cognitive Science at Macquarie University and has a background in audiology and speech-language pathology. Her research interests focus on language and literacy development in children, particularly those facing developmental and perceptual challenges.
