Andri joined the Southampton Education School in 2011 after completing his doctoral studies in the field of science education. Before joining the University of Southampton, he taught various age groups in primary schools across Cyprus and engaged in language teaching in post-compulsory education while studying in London. He has experience teaching qualitative data analysis modules using Nvivo at King’s College London. At Southampton, he has taught and acted as a placement tutor for trainee teachers in the Primary PGCE and Secondary Science PGCE courses between 2011-2014. His leadership roles have included programme director for the MSc Education programme from 2017 to 2020 and associate programme director from 2014 to 2017. His research interests primarily focus on argumentation and dialogic teaching practices within secondary science classrooms, along with science inquiry practices in both primary and secondary education. He has been involved in various research projects regarding socio-scientific issues and the educational impact on teacher professional learning.
