Biography

Dr. Angelica Leigh is an Associate Professor (pre-tenure) in Management Organizations at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She received her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. Dr. Leigh's research primarily focuses on race and organizations, examining the unique experiences of racial minority employees, including Asian, Black, and Latinx individuals, within professional environments. Her work explores the spillover effects of what she terms 'mega-threats'—large-scale negative identity-related societal events—on the well-being and productivity of racial minority employees. Additionally, her research investigates behaviors that employees can engage in to combat racism and promote equity within organizations. Dr. Leigh's scholarly work has been published in leading journals including the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, and the Journal of Applied Psychology. She was honored with the 2022 published paper award from the Academy of Management Journal.
