Dr. Ann Clements

Biography

Ann C. Clements, Ph.D., serves as the Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs at Pennsylvania State University, where she oversees professional development for the university's 6,500+ faculty across 24 campuses. She leads various faculty success initiatives related to new faculty orientation, promotion and tenure, mentoring, leadership training, teaching effectiveness, transition and retention, and emeritus engagement. Additionally, she manages the Administrative Fellows program, the Penn State Laureate program, and the President’s Award for Excellence in Academic Integration. Engaging with the Big Ten Academic Alliance and the Association of Public & Land-Grant Universities, she is also a Professor of Music Education and an active researcher and musician. Clements has delivered over 150 presentations nationally and internationally, and has published extensively in numerous journals as well as authored and edited books, including "Field Guide to Student Teaching in Music" and "Popular Music Pedagogies: A Practical Guide." Recognized as a leading scholar in Māori music in New Zealand, her research focuses on music participation, game theory, augmented realities in education, professional development in higher education, and arts integration.
