I am a professor of Science Education and an associate professor in biology with a focus on subject didactics. I belong to the research group for the didactics of science and technology at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). My research focuses on various subject-didactic aspects that influence learning in scientific and technical subjects. In my current research project, I am particularly interested in exploring the role of emotions in learning during laboratory work and practical assignments. The project, titled "In Search of the Significance of Matter - Gender, Emotions, and Equipment in Laboratory Teaching Situations," funded by the Swedish Research Council (Dnr. 2021-05001), runs from 2022 to 2024. A gender perspective is central to this research project and previous projects I have participated in. I have worked with various theoretical and methodological perspectives, including phenomenography, action research, and different types of observational and interview studies. I have employed both thematic analysis and discourse analytical methods to analyze interview and video data. Alongside my research, I teach various courses for future teachers, from grades 1-3 and grades 4-6 to subject teachers. In graduate education, I supervise master's and doctoral students in Science Education.
Specific requirements apply to all departments. For Architecture, a portfolio is mandatory and submitted via a separate KTH system.
