Biography

Arkasama Bandyopadhyay is an Instructional Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. He completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2020 and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University obtained in 2015. His research interests include Active Learning, Bloom's Taxonomy, Project-Based Learning, Responsible Generative AI Usage, Technology Enhanced Learning, Residential Demand Response, and Sustainability. Bandyopadhyay has received several awards such as the Peggy L. & Charles Brittan '65 Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award in 2025, and he was recognized with the first prize at the University of Texas at Austin Energy Week Student Research Competition in 2020 for his work in the ‘Economic, Policy, Legal Analyses’ category. Additionally, he participated in the Worcester Polytechnic Institute STEM Faculty Launch program in 2019 and has received multiple grants and fellowships throughout his career, including the University of Texas Graduate Fellowship from 2015 to 2019. His scholarly contributions and engagement in professional development demonstrate his commitment to advancing educational methodologies in engineering education.
