Dr. Atiyeh Showrai

Biography

Atiyeh Showrai has been teaching French at the University of Southern California since 1995. Her pedagogical focus revolves around language instruction at various levels, including Creative Writing and Business French. Her courses integrate the use of simulations and content-based multimedia instructional materials. Ms. Showrai's scholarly interests encompass language acquisition, teaching methodology, and language assessment. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she is currently serving as the Director of the French Language Program at USC and also oversees the examination center for the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris at USC. She has been an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) since 2012, the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris since 2001, and the American Association of Teachers of French since 1996.
