Biography

Bertha Jimenez is an Industry Assistant Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, where her research focuses on understanding the role of higher education in developing entrepreneurs. Her insights have helped the university augment co-curricular entrepreneurship training programs. Jimenez co-founded Rise Products, a food-tech startup dedicated to converting organic by-products into food-grade ingredients, creating ultra-nutritious flour from brewer's spent grain. She has extensive experience in the New York entrepreneurship ecosystem, participating in various roles including student, coach, mentor, and founder. Her work has been published in prestigious journals and presented at global summits. In her teaching, she leverages her research and startup experience to help students in Technology Innovation Management. Jimenez is also active in creating a community for minorities and women entrepreneurs through participation in alumni associations. Her commitment to fostering positive social and environmental impact through entrepreneurship is evident in her passion for guiding students.
