Dr. Catherine Kuhn

Biography

Catherine Kuhn is a Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University and serves as Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education. Her research interests focus on Graduate Medical Education, exploring pre-matriculation predictors of success within GME, the impact of faculty development on GME, and methods to enhance the learning environment while addressing the well-being of residents and fellows. She earned her M.D. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 1987 and has held significant positions including Associate Professor and Director of Anesthesia Residency Education. Throughout her career, Kuhn has been dedicated to improving the training and education of future anesthesiologists, integrating innovative approaches to faculty development, and fostering a supportive environment for resident and fellow training. Her contributions to the field have made her a key figure in advancing the standards of medical education in anesthesiology.
