Dr. Charlotte Wåhlin

Biography

Charlotte Wåhlin is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Linköping University in the Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences specializing in occupational medicine and ergonomics. With a strong focus on promoting healthy and safe work environments, she investigates workplace exposures and work-related disorders, addressing the relationship between occupational factors and health outcomes such as musculoskeletal pain and mental health. Charlotte has dedicated her research to understanding and preventing occupational injuries, especially in an aging workforce where more individuals are working longer. She has numerous teaching responsibilities, including advanced-level courses in the medical program, and supervises students in various capacities. Her work at the Occupational Environmental Medicine department includes assessing work environment-related health issues among individuals and groups in the southeastern healthcare region of Sweden. Additionally, she is affiliated with the Karolinska Institutet, contributing to research on implementation in occupational health. Charlotte has served as a project manager and an expert for various organizations, developing guidelines and participating in committees focused on promoting physical activity and health in the workplace. Her interests also extend to the evaluation of rehabilitation processes and the coordination of services for individuals returning to work after sick leave.
