Biography

Chayla Haynes Davison is an Associate Professor in Higher Education Administration at Texas A&M University. She earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Denver and holds an M.A. in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. She has also co-edited several significant works, including 'Interrogating Whiteness Relinquishing Power: White Faculty’s Commitment Racial Consciousness STEM Classrooms' and 'Race Equity Learning Environment: Global Relevance Critical Inclusive Pedagogies Higher Education.' In 2020, she received the Emerging Scholar Award from the Comparative & International Education Society’s African Diaspora Special Interest Group. Haynes Davison has over 15 years of experience in higher education student affairs and has held various leadership roles, including Director of Orientation and Family Programs and Director of Student Affairs Career Services. Her courses include College Teaching and Advanced Student Development Theory. She is an active member of scholarly communities and serves as a mentor to doctoral students in the field.
