Ms. Chiung Yao Lin joined the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2000 and teaches Chinese courses at the Centre for Language Studies, which is part of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS). Prior to entering academia, Ms. Lin worked as a Research Writer and News Editor at Channel 8 Television Corporation Singapore/Mediacorp, and also served as a Teacher Curriculum Planner at Kid Castle Language Center in Taiwan. She has been recognized for her teaching excellence with awards such as the Excellent Teacher Award in 2005 and the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award in 2011.
