Graduating from the University of Vienna, Christine Schallmoser holds MAs in Hispanic Linguistics (2008), Teaching and Education with a focus on German-Spanish (2011), and German as a Foreign Language (2012). She taught German at the Goethe-Institut in Buenos Aires and at the Vienna University of Technology before joining the German Department at King’s College London in 2011 as an OeAD-Lektorin. She is actively involved in projects centered on inclusion, diversity, and decolonization in the Modern Language Curriculum, receiving funding from King’s Race Equity & Inclusive Education Fund (REIEF). She works closely with undergraduate research assistants to improve curriculum design based on student perspectives and collaborates with the University College of Teacher Education in Vienna/Krems on emotional aspects of language learning. Christine has also received funding from the AHRC for the Language Acts and Worldmaking project and explores e-tandem language learning effects on student engagement.
