Biography

Christopher Dede is a Senior Research Fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, known for his fundamental interest in developing new types of educational systems to meet the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century. His research spans emerging technologies in education, infusing technology into large-scale educational improvement initiatives, developing policies to support educational transformation, and providing leadership in educational innovation. Currently, Dede is the co-principal investigator for the National Artificial Intelligence Institute in Adult Learning and Online Education and co-founded Silver Lining for Learning, a widely used framework for scaling educational innovations. Dede has served as chair of the Learning & Teaching program at HGSE and has been influential in various research and publication projects that explore the intersection of digital technologies and deeper learning. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to educational technology, including being named one of the top 25 edtech innovators in the past 25 years by the Consortium for School Networking.
