Biography

I have been actively involved in the field of education since 2013, bringing a broad range of experiences in K–12 and higher education settings. My career began in the Chicagoland area, where I served as a special education teacher and case manager for students in grades PreK-12. During this time, I supported learners with diverse needs across elementary, middle, and high school settings by developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), co-teaching in general education classrooms, and leading inclusive instructional practices. After several years in the classroom, I transitioned to school leadership, serving as an administrator at the elementary and middle school levels, supporting district-wide initiatives for inclusive education and staff development. My work has since expanded into higher education, where I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses in special education, teacher preparation, and educational administration at institutions including Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Illinois State University, and Northwestern University. Currently, I teach MSED courses and serve as the Assistant Professor Chair for the Undergraduate Special Education Program at National Louis University.
